Open Call for Using the Services of the Croatian Competence Centre for Semiconductors
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), as coordinator of the Croatian Competence Centre for Semiconductors (CROCCS), has published a Public Call for using CROCCS services.
CROCCS gives companies and researchers access to the infrastructure, know-how and experts of its six consortium members: FER, FERIT, the Faculty of Science in Split, the Ruđer Bošković Institute, the Institute of Physics and KONČAR – Electrical Engineering Institute. The services fall into three groups. Under skills development, users can take part in specialised programmes and workshops in chip design, characterisation, processing, neuroelectronics and electronic systems. Start-ups and SMEs can also develop their own ASIC demonstrator with CROCCS support, from design and fabrication through to characterisation. Support for developing semiconductor solutions covers processing, characterisation of materials, devices and circuits, testing and advisory services. Finally, CROCCS connects users with the European semiconductor ecosystem: the European Network of Competence Centres (ENCCC), the European pilot lines and the European Chips Design Platform (EuroCDP).
Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises can use the services with state aid in the form of innovation aid, training aid and aid for experimental development projects. Depending on the type of service, the aid intensity is up to 50% of eligible costs, rising to as much as 100% for innovation advisory and innovation support services. The aid is granted by the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation.
State aid rules do not apply to large enterprises or to entities not engaged in economic activity, such as students, professors, doctoral candidates and public research organisations. They can contact CROCCS directly at croccs@fer.hr to use the services.
Applications must be submitted on paper, by post or in person, to: University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Unska 3, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia, marked “Za CROCCS” (“For CROCCS”). Completed forms can be sent by email beforehand for preliminary review. Anyone interested in services not listed in the Service Catalogue can send an expression of interest to the same address, with a short description of their organisation and needs.
