Croatia: From Chip to Robot – conference on Croatia’s potential in semiconductors and robotics

The Ministry of Economy, in cooperation with FER, FSB and the Croatian Competence Centre for Semiconductors (CROCCS), is organising a conference on 9 November 2026 at Hotel International in Zagreb. Registration is open until 30 October.

The conference will present the potential of the Republic of Croatia in the semiconductor and robotics sectors. Representatives of academia, industry and the public sector will discuss the Croatian value chain, which extends from microelectronics and chip design to robotic and autonomous systems. They will also discuss opportunities for collaboration and investment.

The opening addresses will be followed by two panels.

Panel I: Chips: The Future We Engineer

The panel will be introduced and moderated by Assist. Prof. Tvrtko Mandić (FER; CROCCS). The panellists are:

  • Assist. Prof. Jelena Čulić-Viskota, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Split
  • Prof. Hrvoje Džapo, FER; CROBOHUB++
  • Prof. Emeritus Adrijan Barić, FER
  • Dr. Dubravko Babić, CEO, Eridan Communications
  • Dr. Zlatka Tečec-Ribarić, KONČAR – Electrical Engineering Institute

Panel II: Robotics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

The panel will be introduced and moderated by Academician Bojan Jerbić (FSB; CRTA). The panellists are:

  • Assoc. Prof. Marko Švaco, Head of the Regional Centre of Excellence for Robotic Technology (CRTA), FSB
  • Dr Barbara Arbanas Ferreira, Head of Research, MARBLE Centre of Excellence

  • Dr Josip Ćesić, CEO, Gideon

The conference will conclude with lunch and networking from 12:00. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided from Croatian into English.
